About the college

A promise to Bauchi State, and to every Nigerian who chooses care as a calling.

History

Aliko Dangote College of Nursing Sciences Bauchi was established in 2010, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the civilian administration of Malam (Dr.) Isah Yuguda and the Federal Government, after ceding the former Schools of Nursing and Midwifery to the Federal Government.

The Bauchi State House of Assembly passed the law establishing the College, which was assented to by the then Governor on 30 January 2011. The College commenced operations in September 2013, following the appointment of the Governing Council.

In October 2019 the College obtained its provisional accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). The enabling law was later amended and the institution renamed Aliko Dangote College of Nursing Sciences, signed into law on 29 July 2020 by His Excellency Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Executive Governor of Bauchi State.

The College is charged with making tertiary health-professional education available to the teeming Bauchi State population and every Nigerian pursuing intellectual and professional advancement — promoting teaching, learning, research and innovation in health, science and technology education for inclusive growth.
